WAIVER

Martial arts are contact sports and as such carry an inherent risk of injury. By signing this form you are agreeing to absolve the club of any liability for any such injuries received unless it can be shown that they are due to a negligent act or omission on our part.

In the absence of any negligence or breach of any other legal duty by the Club, the use by the member of any of the Club’s equipment, or facilities and participating in training is entirely at the member’s own risk. The member acknowledges that they must not use any equipment or use any techniques until they have been shown the correct use of the equipment/techniques and they are satisfied that they are competent to do safely and properly. The member must use the equipment and facility safely and properly, and take care to safeguard their own health and safety and that of other members. The Club will not be responsible for any loss or injury to the member to the extent that it is caused by their own unsafe or improper use of the equipment or the facility or the use or application of uncontrolled techniques. The member acknowledges that they will be responsible for any harm or injury that they cause to another member or to the Club to the extent that it is caused through their own unsafe or improper use of the equipment or the facilities or application of techniques. The coach(s) reserve the right to suspend membership at any time if a member does not adhere to safe and proper use of the Club’s equipment or application of techniques as instructed by the coach.

The Club shall not be responsible for or liable to the member for any loss or damage to a member’s possessions within the facility. The member agrees to abide by the clubs rules and regulations and as amended from time to time, and also to the clubs constitution, a copy of which is available on request.

Please note that the club does not provide personal accident insurance cover.

Who is collecting the data?

Team Torres are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. For any personal data you provide for the
purposes of your membership, Team Torres is the Data Controller and is responsible for storing and otherwise
processing that data in a fair, lawful, secure and transparent way.

What data is being collected?

You may give us information about you by filling in forms at an event or online, or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you register with the Club, [subscribe to our newsletter, or participate in discussion boards on our website, facebook page, Instagram page. etc.] The information you give us may include your name, date of birth, address, e-mail address, phone number, name of the Team Torres Clubs with which you are registered and gender. We may also ask for relevant health information, or other data.

What is the legal basis for processing the data?

The reason we need your Data is to be able to administer your membership and provide the membership services you are signing up to when you register with the club. Our lawful basis for processing your personal is that we have a contractual obligation to you as a member to provide the services you are registering for. 

Will the data be shared with any third parties?
The Club does not supply any personal data it holds for this purpose to any other third party.

The Club’s data processing requires your personal data to be transferred outside of the Ireland only for the purpose of cloud hosting.

How will the information be used?
We will maintain a database for all current members and this will enable us communicate with you as and when
necessary. 

How long will the data be stored for?
We will hold your personal data on file for as long as you are a member with us. . Any personal data we hold on you will be securely destroyed after 3 years of inactivity on that member’s account. Your data is not processed for any further purposes other than those detailed in this policy.

Your rights regarding your personal data
As a data subject you may have the right at any time to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data; to restrict or object to certain kinds of processing of your personal data, including direct marketing; to the portability of your personal data and to complain to the Data Protection Commissioner’s Office about the processing of your personal data.

As a data subject you are not obliged to share your personal data with the Club. If you choose not to share your personal data with us we may not be able to register or administer your membership.
